About Kathryn Gutierrez Hiester
I am a certified Spanish-English interpreter based in Philadelphia. For more than 16 years I have interpreted in person at USCIS interviews, depositions, examinations under oath, client intake interviews, Independent Medical Evaluations (IMEs), and neuropsychological exams. SpanishEnglish.me is my practice: one interpreter, working directly with you.
Background
I come from an immigrant family that became U.S. citizens, so I know the process from both sides of the table. I understand the culture behind the words, not just the vocabulary. That lets me help clients, attorneys, adjusters, officers, and medical examiners understand each other clearly and accurately.
In-person work is my main service. Being in the room lets me read tone and body language, which makes my interpretation more precise than phone or video interpreting.
What I do
- USCIS interviews for green cards (adjustment of status), naturalization (N-400), and asylum.
- Legal interpretation: depositions, examinations under oath (EUOs), and client intake interviews.
- Medical-legal interpretation: Independent Medical Evaluations (IMEs) for workers' compensation, injury, and disability cases, and neuropsychological exams.
- Preparation support with you and your attorney before the appointment.
Where I work
I serve Philadelphia and its suburbs (Montgomery, Bucks, Delaware, and Chester counties), South Jersey, Wilmington and New Castle County in Delaware, the Lehigh Valley, Lancaster, York, Reading, Berks County, and Kennett Square.
